Since its sequential publication in 2002, the "New Practical Chinese Textbook" has been widely welcomed by teachers and learners. In consideration of users' convenience, this revision primarily focuses on rectifying some of the inappropriate aspects found in the textbook. The overall framework of the textbook, especially the texts and main language points, has not undergone significant changes. The reading materials and images in the comprehensive workbook have been updated.

This book is the comprehensive workbook for the first volume of the second edition, serving as a supplementary exercise book for the first volume textbook. Each lesson is divided into two major sections: listening and speaking exercises, and reading and writing exercises. In addition to rich exercises in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, there are also grammar review sections, timely aiding learners in summarizing grammar key points and difficulties.

Accompanied by recordings, the book includes listening exercises in the listening and speaking sections, which can be accessed by scanning the QR code on the back of the book.
